Security Dogs

Different dogs for different tasks.

Having the wrong dog on the task can have severe ramifications not only on the security company but also on the company hiring the security.

In this day and age we must not only be vigilant and responsible in what we do as an individual or a company but also who we hire to do our out sourced work. Using the right equipment to do the required job is essential in any industry and that is no different in the security industry.

The dog and handler must not only be matched as a working team but also matched to the job or task delegated to them. Loganholme Security Services can evaluate the task delegated to us and supply a team to complete that task within the guidelines of the Occupational Health and Safety regulations.

The old saying “ an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure “ is no more evident than when a would be thief or vandal ventures onto a construction site or compound and comes face to face with a security dog coupled with a security guard making the trespasser rethink their course of action. News soon spreads that this site is a no go area for unwelcome people.

Whether it is a construction site; a building complex or a crowd control situation, there is nothing more frightening or intimidating than a well trained security dog running at you barking and showing their teeth. On many occasions we have witnessed even the biggest and strongest of people confronted by one of our dogs rethink their actions and fade away into the sunset thus eliminating any confrontation.

The dogs we use when operating within a school are completely different than the normal crowd control or protection dogs. These dogs find and warn of a presence on site and the security officer then handles the procedure of identifying the authorised or unauthorised person or persons and determining and implementing the agreed course of action. With most of the unauthorised persons found on school sites being school aged children it is unwise for them to be confronted by a crowd control dog.

All our dog handlers are fully licensed security officers and licensed to handle dogs. Loganholme Security Services recognises that Occupational Health and Safety Regulations are a key feature of the modern security company. Loganholme Security Services has an obligation to our staff, customers and members of the public to deliver an environment that is safe and healthy and is considerate of their welfare.
